Monica Giorgi Chief Marshal of Carabinieri, Member of the European LGBTQ+ Police Association

Biography:

My name is Monica Giorgi, I’m 38 years old and I’m from Florence but I’m based in Livorno. I am a Chief Marshal of Carabinieri, an Italian Armed Force. This year I joined the Polis Aperta association, which I met in my activity as a military trade unionist. In fact, in 2019 I was one of the founders of the first military unions authorized to exist in Italy. I am of the opinion that we need to do a lot of activism in military circles to try to make them more inclusive, because in my job it is essential to recognize prevarication and discrimination. In my free time I love to train, read, visit new cities and meet new people. I’m really grateful and proud to be able to attend Euro Pride 2024, tt is a very precious opportunity.
