COME AS YOU ARE
The 6th Thessaloniki Pride is dedicated to our right to identify ourselves the way we feel and our obligation to respect the self-identification of others. With the increasing visibility of the LGBTIQ+ community the society gets more and more familiar with identities relating to sexual orientation and gender identity, expression and sex characteristics. These identifications are added to the other ones that we have and it goes without saying that a person has multiple identities through which they are determined vis-a-vis the others. In this light the role of Thessaloniki Pride is to remind that sexual and gender identities, like all identities, are related to the person who bears them and chooses to define itself as such. Each person has the right to adopt any identity and gender expression they wish, to make their personality visible, to fall in love with whomever they want and conversely the obligation to accept and respect the right of others to have different and any kind of identities.
From 14 to 17 June 2017 come as you are to Thessaloniki to claim your right to self-identification and to celebrate in a series of art events, street parties, concerts and of course the great Pride March.
