Dear delegates,

On behalf of the Thessaloniki Pride organisation and as an LGBTIQ+ community fighting for the human rights, dignity and freedom of all people, we thank you for your call and declare our unwavering support for the March to Gaza and the just struggle to lift the inhumane blockade.

We recognize that human rights are universal, indivisible and interrelated. The people of Gaza – like every community that suffers oppression, exclusion and systematic violence – deserve to live in safety, freedom and dignity. The deliberate prevention of access to humanitarian aid, the crimes against civilians and the denial of basic goods constitute flagrant violations of international law and must be addressed with collective voice and action.

As an LGBTIQ+ organization, we know very well what exclusion, stigma and repression mean. Our solidarity is not restricted to the borders or gender or sexual orientation, but extends to any community that claims the fundamental right to survival and self-determination.

We join our voices with the International Initiative March to Gaza and call on other collectives to act likewise. We will contribute to spreading the message of the March, and to the extent of our capabilities, we support this international action that highlights the need for peace, justice and equality.
