1. Overcoming, documentary + q&a

overcoming

On the 20th anniversary of the opening of crossing points, OVERCOMING tells the inspiring story of Cypriot women, queers, and antimilitarist cismen challenging militarism and gender norms. Through diverse interviews, the film explores how the opening and closing of the checkpoints, as the sole passageways between north and south, have impacted the lives of Cypriots while revealing their struggles against the ongoing division of the island and their efforts towards a more united future.

2. I’m in love with mother nature, documentary + q&a

mother nature

I’m in Love with Mother Nature.

Shot on mobile phones by a group of older LGBTQ people living on the Mitzen peninsula in the far southwest of Ireland, calling themselves ‘Salt & Pepper’ because even if their hair is going salty grey, they are still the spice of life.

A film that embraces and articulates beautifully the simple pleasures of life, exploring the fears and joys of aging, and providing a reassuring and realistic portrait of this universal yet under-represented part of humanity.

3. Tilos Weddings, documentary

tilos

In the year 2008, the mayor of the island of Tilos in the Aegean Sea agreed to perform the first gay and lesbian civil marriages ever held in Greece. The film follows the story of these two civil marriages through visual material that was shot ad hoc, but also through footage from the Gay Pride of the same year, Press conferences and other demonstrations regarding the same topic.
