As we are going through the holiday season, when children and their toys are on the spotlight, Thessaloniki Pride and Rainbow Families are organizing an event for them on Friday, December 30, at 5:00 p.m. Our aim is to liberate children through the fairy tale from the obsolete notions we are overwhelmed with that colors and toys have a specific gender and to let them develop their personality freely, without being filled with guilt, because they prefer one or the other game.
At the event, the fairy tale “The drag queen who saved Christmas” will be read by a drag queen herself, who is a living example of challenging gender stereotypes. The action is supervised by students of the Department of Culture and Creative Media and Industries of the Univ. of Thessaly within the framework of the Educational Actions and Cultural Mediation course, under the supervision of their professors.
It goes without saying that all the children are accompanied by their guardians, of course all the necessary measures have been taken for the safety of the event, while the venue that hosts us creates the ideal environment for such educational activities.
